Unbroken Montana
“Mike’s left hand landed on Roy’s right shoulder. “I know you’re grateful, and I thank ya for saying so. I know you’re glad to be here just from watching you. You’re a good man Roy. You’ll be fine.”
Unbroken Montana
Vol. 1 The Saga of Big Mike and Roy
Set against the backdrop of Montana’s path to statehood in 1889, Unbroken Montana tells the story of Big Mike Hanson, a determined rancher, and Roy Douglas, a Scottish orphan searching for a new life. What begins as a dream of opportunity quickly becomes a struggle for survival as the men—and the families around them—face the unpredictable hardships of building a future on untamed land.
From the mines and open ranges of the 1890s to the ranchlands of Fergus County, this sweeping historical novel follows four generations bound together by resilience, loyalty, and hope. A chance meeting in Scotland leads to a lifelong bond in Montana, where Big Mike, Roy, and Elmer must fight for their place in a land that promises everything but guarantees nothing.
